Dr Sam (TCM) is an AHPRA-registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience in Melbourne. He has a particular interest in musculoskeletal health, respiratory and digestive health, skin health, and emotional wellbeing. He also has a special interest in fertility, pregnancy support, IVF support, postpartum care, and paediatric health.
β
As a father, Sam has witnessed firsthand the challenges that can accompany pregnancy, caesarean recovery and the postnatal period. These personal experiences have deepened his interest in supporting women and families through Chinese Medicine.
β
Sam is also trained in remedial massage, allowing him to combine acupuncture and remedial massage within the same treatment session when appropriate. This integrated approach lets him combine acupuncture and hands-on remedial massage in a personalised treatment plan, particularly for clients seeking care for musculoskeletal and physical concerns.
β
Growing up in a family where Chinese Medicine was the first choice for healthcare, Sam was deeply influenced by his grandfather, who was an acupuncturist. This early exposure developed into a lifelong passion for Chinese Medicine.
β
Since 2015, Sam has practised Korean SAAM and SAM BU acupuncture, and has presented seminars in Melbourne and Sydney since 2018. His approach to herbal medicine is informed by the Dongui Bogam, a Korean medical text compiled in 1613 and recognised by UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme.
β
Sam takes a personalised and holistic approach to Chinese Medicine, considering each person's individual health history, presentation and treatment goals.
Sam is fluent in both English and Korean.
