DR KAYLIN CHENG (CHINESE MEDICINE & ACUPUNCTURE)

BHSc/BAppSc(ChinMed)/MRMed

Kaylin is passionate about helping people balance their mind and body to maintain optimum health. This is because she strongly believes in the fundamental Chinese Medicine concept of “the best treatment of disease is prevention”. She graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Chinese Medicine) at RMIT University and is an accredited Chinese Medicine Herbalist and Acupuncturist in Australia.

She has always been fascinated with herbal medicine from a young age. Many years later she learned that her grandfather and great-grandparents were skillful in making herbal balms and tinctures to treat acute injuries in their hometown. It must have been predestined for her to embark on this journey as a practitioner to explore the vast knowledge and wisdom left behind by Chinese Medicine physicians.

Kaylin has completed extensive clinical training in acupuncture and internal medicine at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, Tzu Chi Hospitals (Taipei and Kuanshan branches), and China Medical University Hospital in Taiwan. Furthermore, she had the honour to be mentored by Dr. Yi-Ying Shen, master of Classical School of Acupuncture in Taiwan. The Classical acupuncture technique utilises concepts of “visceral relationship and treatment”, “five gates and ten changes" from the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine, specialised acupoint bloodletting techniques, and meridian musculature palpation and therapy.

Upon returning to Australia in 2018, Kaylin established Sen Health Clinic in the Northern Territory. For 5 years she solely operated a small but thriving practice providing herbal and acupuncture services to clients in Alice Springs and surrounding rural communities. Her vision for expanding to Melbourne is to work towards building a multidisciplinary clinic so that clients have more access to integrative alternative health services.

Having personally struggled with severe pain in the past, Kaylin has a special interest in treating various gynecological conditions in her clinical practice. This includes painful periods, endometriosis, adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, irregular menstruation, infertility, menopausal syndrome, pregnancy support, post miscarriage and postpartum recovery. In 2023, she completed her Master degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Kaylin combines her knowledge of gynecology in Chinese Medicine with Western medicine to assist couples who are preparing for pregnancy or undergoing IVF treatment.

Kaylin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Hokkien.
